5/5/08......Staverton take the Title
Congratulations go to Staverton Res as they became Division Five Champions after a 5-4 victory at Teignmouth Res. That result also confirmed that Boro will finish the season in fourth place. Stoke Fleming were runners-up while Stoke Gabriel finished in third.
2/5/08......Hutchings takes top award
The end of season Dinner was held tonight in the Kings Arms Hotel , Kingsbridge and an enjoyable evening was had by all. Rob Hutchings won the Player of the Year Trophy while Joe Bailey picked up Young Player. The Managers Award went to James Thomas and Mike White walked away with Clubman of the Year.
21/4/08....Telephones first on the List
Malborough’s first pre-season friendly of the 2008/09 season will be a home fixture on Saturday 26th July against touring side Bristol Telephones. Malborough will then take a team to Bristol for a return game the following weekend. Bristol Telephones failed to win either game last year so they could be ringing the changes this time !
5/4/08......Season ends in Defeat
Malborough’s disappointing end to the season contuinued as they lost 4-1 at Stoke Gabriel. The home side bossed the first half but the score was nil each at the break. For the first twenty minutes of the second half Boro were the better team but once Gabriel took the lead the visitors fell apart and a last minute goal from Aaron Theaker was all that Boro took home. 29/3/08....Not so Hot from the Spot
Malborough lost by 2-0 this afternoon against Ipplepen Res in atrocious conditions. A fierce wind and driving rain made the game a bit of a farce but both teams deserve credit for making a decent game of it .
