4/7/09.......Double trouble for Bristolians

A brace from Gary Burman and James Thomas helped Boro beat Bristol Telephones by 5-2 on a warm afternoon down at Beesands today. Olly Stallard opened the scoring and had a helping hand in a further two goals.

16/6/09.....Pre-Season kicks off early

The 2009/10 season will kick-off two weeks early to ensure everything is wrapped up by the time the World Cup gets under way. Because of this Boro will start training on Tuesday 30th June.

8/6/09.......Four teams to be promoted

Hookhills Utd and Stoke Fleming will be promoted to Division Three along with Champion’s Staverton and runners-up Teignmouth Res. Malborough will face Ilsington Villa and Brixham Town who have been relegated from Division Three. Watcombe Wanderers,Buckland 3rds,Denbury Athletic and Newton Utd Res have all been promoted into Division Four and will line up alongside Boro in the 2009/10 season. 

6/6/09.......Moonrakers pip Boro in 20/20

The first 20/20 cricket match between Malborough Moonrakers C.C. and Malborough Utd turned out to be a close match. Moonrakers set a target of 114 for Boro to chase. Rich Teague,Gary Burman,Gareth Morgan and Rich Bostock all posted decent scores but a flurry of late wickets slowed the scoring and Boro finally ran out of overs and posted a total of 105.

4/6/09.......Joint venture is over

Malborough Utd have decided to leave the KM Utd set-up due to a difference in opinion as to how Boro should be run. The split is amicable and both clubs will continue to work closely together when possible. Malborough will hire the new clubhouse on it’s completion in the same way as it currently hires the Annexe. The club will return to the home strip of yellow and black when the new kit is purchased this summer. The red and black will become the away strip. A new badge will be designed and will go over the top of the current badge on the training tops and polo shirts. Jackson Day will return as club treasurer. John Lapthorn will again be the club chairman. Mike Stone will become club secretary. The future is bright....the future is yellow !

8/5/09.......Raymont wins top Award

The 2008/09 Players Player Trophy has been won by midfielder Sean Raymont. Tonight’s Football Club Dinner held at ‘Shambles’ Bistro was a great success with all twenty guests having an enjoyable evening. Dan Bowles won the Young Player Trophy and Jack Massey walked away with the Manager’s Award. The Clubman Trophy was won by Roy & Liz Hutchings.
